You're invited to our Annual Public Lecture exploring one of the tough questions from the bible on April 17 at 7.30PM.
As we read through the Old Testament, we quickly come across intense violence and even genocide which has been commanded by God. How can we reconcile this with a loving God and what does it mean for us today? You're invited to our Annual Public Lecture.
Join us for a talk by lecturer and bible scholar Nathan Lovell, followed by an open Q&A where no question is off-limits. Come wrestle honestly with the big questions of life, faith, and meaning — and stay afterwards for light refreshments.
April 17th 7.30PM - 8.45PM at 10 Greenwood St, Wishart. This event is free with no need to register.
During this Public Lecture, Nathan will seek to address the question of violence in the Old Testament. Nathan will speak for about 45 minutes about this topic.
Following the talk, there will be an opportunity for extended Q&A where you can ask any question about the topic. This will be anonymous through our text-line or you can put your hand up and ask publicly.
After this we'll have some time of light refreshments and hot chocolates to continue conversation over.

Dr Nathan Lovell teaches the Old Testament and works as the Director of Research at George Whitefield College in South Africa. He holds a PhD in the Old Testament and has written books on 1-2 Chronicles and 1-2 Kings. Nathan is married to Diane who works as a Bible Translation Consultant for SIL Southern Africa. They have two kids, Shiri and Isaac.
