Work With Us

Children's Ministry Coordinator (19 hrs/wk)

St John's Wishart is an Evangelical Anglican church and we long for every generation to be able to come to know and turn to Jesus. We are a church that is committed to the authority of God's word and biblical teaching undergirded by dependance on God through prayer. As such, we are seeking to employ a Children's Ministry Coordinator to enable and facilitate the discipleship of our current children and the outreach to our community.

Our Current Situation:

At the moment, we have a few creche kids, no regular primary aged children, and around ten teenagers who join us on a Sunday. Our Creche runs every Sunday and our Youth Group goes out for a discussion group following the sermon during the service. Additionally, we have a Friday night Youth Group which has around 15 regular members. We have leaders ready to go for our Sunday School and working teams for our Creche and Youth ministry.

In 2025 we ran a Holiday Kids Club where 35 different kids joined us to hear about the news of Jesus who is the man who defeated death!

Unfortunately, we currently do not have anything else regularly happening for the outreach to kids in our community. We long for children from every background, language, and culture to hear about Jesus and the successful applicant will help us achieve both these objectives of making and maturing disciples of Jesus.

Who we are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a mature Christian who lives under the authortiy of the Word of God;
  • Has a passion for children to come to faith in Christ;
  • Has ideas as to how we can do this;
  • Has skills in equipping and training people for ministry;
  • Has experience in Children's ministry.

Our Values, Mission, and Vision

At St John's, we want to glorify God through centring on His word. Therefore we value:

  • Biblical Teaching - We value teaching that seeks to understand God’s revelation of himself to us in individual books of the Bible and through the whole context of Scripture.
  • Prayerful Dependence - We value praying to God as both a privilege and a responsibility for the individual and the whole church.
  • Care - We value care for one another as members of one family in Jesus Christ.
  • Intergenerational - We value people of different generations and look for opportunities both to minister to different generations and to foster relationships between gpenerations.
  • Serving with Gifts - We value the people God has given us with their various gifts, skills and talents. We want to use the gifts he has entrusted to us to serve Him and each other.
  • Mission-Driven - We value the gospel and want it to shape our thinking and our work together so that we might see a community that knows the freedom and life that are in Christ alone.
